Another  good  road trip we  did while  we  stayed  at  Goldfield was the loop North through Canyon Lake, Tortilla Flat, Apache' Lake, Rosevelt  Lake, Globe  Superior and  back to Apache' Junction.
Torilla Flat was  one  of  the  original Stage  stops in the  area. The  area is  loaded  with mines and things to remind  you of  days gone  by in our  western heritage.
Warning! Do not attempt this  road in a oversize  vehicle (camper, motorhome , etc). The road  in several places is  restricted  to one  lane of travel and there are several very steep edgy ledgy sections  on the  road.
We stopped  at this  Canyon to look at the  water falls and  river flowing  out of it.
The landscape  on this drive  is anything but flat! There is  so much natural beauty for you to see. This  photo was  taken 3 miles East  of  Tortilla Flats.
Peg having fun at the  Saloon at  Tortilla Flat
This  was  the  steep hil that I was  referring to. Remember that  this is a two way  road and  you have  to look way ahead  to see  if  someone  is  coming  towards  you. You may  have  to wait  several minutes  for them to pass but, the  wait  is  worth it!

Keep your  eyes on the road! We seen several car hulks  scattered on the  cliff edges and  lopes  along  this section of road. There  isn't  much in the way  of guardrails either. One can only  imagine  what it was  like  to go down or  even up this road in a wagon or  stage coach.
At the  bottom of  this  photo you can see  the  waterway that  feeds into Canyon Lake  from Apache' Lake.
This is Apache' Lake, it spans  several miles through picturesque canyons. It has several primitive  campsites , and a Marina. This is a  very  popular spot for fishing and  power boating. It flows from the Dam at  Rosevelt Lake  towards Canyon Lake.
                                                            Rosevelt  Dam out flow
                                                                     Rosevelt  Dam

After you pass the  Dam, you cross the Apache' Trail which crosses  over  an old  metal bridge and  continues  NW.
The  lake on the  Right is  Rosevelt  Lake, which was  huge! It  is  a  very  popular  spot  for both fisherman and  campers wanting water  with their sun. This  trip should be one  where  you can start early in the  day simply because there is just so much to see that you won't  want  to rush it.
The end to another great Arizona Day!
                                                              A mule Earred  Sunset!
